Message from Michael Ary, Director of Bands
Hello Band families. I hope each of you are staying healthy and enjoying spending more time together as a family. I know it’s been nice slowing down and spending quality time with my girls.
As we move forward into online learning, we will be using Canvas, Remind, Zoom and Google Forms for communication and turning in assignments. Fortunately this year we have already established a routine of turning in recorded assignments, so that is one less new thing we are all having to learn. This week we just need to open the lines of communication and receive feedback from the students. Next week we will begin assigning playing assignments that will be turned in via video recordings.
This week’s assignment is the following Google Form:
Every student must fill out this Form by Friday or we are supposed to call to make sure students are receiving our communications.
Many things are still unclear. Will we return to class on April 13th? Will we have a banquet? We will have UIL? Will we have an end of year concert? How will we audition for Drum Major/Section Leader/next year’s band classes? Be patient and we’ll all figure this out together. These are unprecedented times for everyone but we’ll get through this by being patient and understanding.

Message from Shakira Luna, Band Booster President
I hope and pray for the continued safety and health of our extended family and friends during this difficult time. Over the next week, the focus will be on getting reconnected to online learning and continuing to establish our new routines in this temporary new normal. Our project teams will be getting back to work (remotely) so that we can continue to accomplish as much as we can to finish out the year as best we can. Whether or not we are able to hold our banquets and other year-end events as planned, we will figure out a way to celebrate from our homes, particularly in honor of our seniors.
To that end, please take this time to continue to send in photos for the yearbook and senior memories. Have your senior submit their memory as well. Please stay engaged with the Facebook groups for band and guard. We will post important information there as well over the coming days. The links to join are below if you need to get connected.

Senior Photos & Memories
Seniors & Parents of Seniors! We are still collecting photos and messages for the special Band/Color Guard yearbook, as well as the banquet printed program. Deadline has been extended!
