Flight Deck – A message from Mr. Ary, Head Band Director

Please find the link to the meeting notes from Mr. Ary's Pre-Season meeting tonight. Its extremely important that everyone review these. With construction on campus and a lot of changes, this is a MUST READ for all parents and students. . We have deadlines and orders due soon. Stay tuned for more information this week.

Due to construction at Taylor, Summer Band locations will be split between both MPJH and Taylor. Here is the locations and times of where and when we will be at both places. This is a working schedule so please give grace as we may need to adjust. Ensure you are on the Directors reminds for the latest last minute shifts!

Make sure your student is already starting to hydrate and get heat acclimated for their on health and safety and transitioning to early morning starts!

From Mr. Guzman:

Make sure your physicals are in! I emailed all families yesterday who need to still complete their required forms and get their physical uploaded to Rank One. Don't forget those other important forms like consent to treat and travel so we are prepared for Day !.Your student will not be allowed to participate if they do not have these forms on file and clear for Monday, July 21 at 7 AM.

Drumline – Week 1 Plan

For the first week of Summer Band, the drumline will meet at MPJH each morning.

• We will begin the day with tracking and drumming at MPJH.
• After the morning session, students will travel to Taylor, but they will not be taking their drums with them.
• This means drumline members may:
• Ride the district bus
• Drive themselves
• Ride with a parent

Please ensure your student is prepared for this daily transition and arrives on time.

The Spin Zone – Mr. House, Color Guard Director & Tabitha Sone, Color Guard Liaison

Color Guard- Please make sure you are ready for band camp. Leadership has sent out a required and recommended list, so start getting everything together now and make sure you are going outside for at least 30 min every day to get acclaimed to the heat. 

Other Summer Band Reminders:

To be ready for Monday, students should arrive with:

• Good tennis shoes
• A BIG 64oz (½ gallon) water jug
• A white t-shirt and athletic shorts
• Their music
• A well-rested body
• A hearty breakfast- No Dairy!
• A solid lunch plan (either signed up for Week One Summer Lunches or bringing a lunch—no dairy)
• And most importantly, a great attitude!

JET Fuel:

Summer Lunch Orders will close on 7/21 at Noon for Week 2! Make sure to get your orders in! No exceptions!

🛒 How to Order

Orders are now open in the Jet Band Store.

Be sure to include your student’s name and section with your order so we can deliver meals correctly.

Gear Orders:

We will do a sizing day for shoes as soon as we can access our shoe sizers in the building. No orders will be placed with our vendors until all students have had a opportunity to try these on. We STRONGLY recommend ALL students try on shoes before making a purchase. It is incredibly important these shoes fit correctly. We will place one large order on July 30th. After that you will need to order these shoes directly from the vendor and shipping is about $25/shoe when ordered separately. If a size change is needed after they are tried on, we will adjust your order.

Get all orders placed for Required Gear before July 30th! You will need your Blue Performance shirt, black performance shorts for Marchathon on August 18th! Allow time for production and shipping.

Friendly Reminders: Band & Color Guard Dues

💰 June & July Payments

• June and July payments are now late.
• All families should have paid $425 at this time
• Update: Starting July 15, late fees will automatically apply. You’ll notice the payment amounts in the Store will reflect this increase. June Payments will now be $250 and July will be $225.

We know payment reminders aren’t the most exciting—but timely dues are essential to keeping everything running smoothly for our students. Thank you for staying on top of it!
