Important & Time-Sensitive Information For Summer Band

Summer Band 2025 – Critical Updates for All Students & Parents

As we gear up for Summer Band, we have important and time-sensitive updates to share. Please read this message in its entirety to ensure you don’t miss any key details.


This year, we are facing some significant changes to our Summer Band locations due to construction. While this situation is not ideal, we are confident that—together—we will overcome the challenges.


As an organization, we are committed to sharing information with you as clearly and promptly as possible. That said, we ask for your patience and commitment to staying tuned in for updates as we navigate this.

🚍 Transportation Sign-Up Required

🏗️ Due to ongoing construction at Taylor High School, Summer Band will take place at two campuses: Taylor and Memorial Parkway Junior High

To support families, Katy ISD will provide district buses to transport students between the two schools. If your student will need transportation on any day—even just one—you MUST sign up using the transportation link.

This sign-up is located in our Band Store, and you must complete the checkout process to be counted. Check out your cart!

✅ There is no charge for this service, but signing up is the only way we can secure the correct number of buses.

🗓️ Deadline to sign up: Friday at 10 AM CST

If your student is not on the list, they will not have a ride.

📌 Important Notes:

  • This bus service is only for transportation between Taylor and MPJH during the day. It does not include transportation from home to Summer Band.
  • If you choose not to use the district transportation, please refer to the linked schedule and make arrangements to personally transport your student or ensure they drive themselves.
  • There will be days when students must travel from Taylor to MPJH and back again. It is your student's responsibility to ensure they arrive on time to all rehearsals.
  • Our first day of Summer Band, July 21, will be held only at MPJH.
  • We are hopeful this two-campus setup will only be necessary for the first week, but it may extend into week two, depending on the progress of construction at Taylor.

Mandatory Parent Online Meeting – July 14 at 6:00 PM

We ask that at least 1 parent join this important meeting. It is critical especially given our location changes, etc that everyone attend.

Students should be attending their sectionals, acclimating to the heat and staying active.

📝 Required Forms Must be received BEFORE July 21st.

  • Physicals: All students must have a current physical uploaded to Rank One.
  • ⚠️ Note: While UIL only requires a physical every 2 years, Katy ISD requires one every year—even if Rank One shows your student as eligible you must have one dated AFTER May 1 2025 and uploaded before summer band starts..
  • All Required Forms: Please upload all necessary documents to Rank One.
  • Commitment Form: This is uploaded to the Google Drive.

Our Percussion Jersey is now live! Just a reminder this s required gear and there is a deadline to purchase of July 30th. Link to order

Drumline – Week 1 Plan

For the first week of Summer Band, the drumline will meet at MPJH each morning.

  • We will begin the day with tracking and drumming at MPJH.
  • After the morning session, students will travel to Taylor, but they will not be taking their drums with them.
  • This means drumline members may:
  • Ride the district bus
  • Drive themselves
  • Ride with a parent

Please ensure your student is prepared for this daily transition and arrives on time.


The Spin Zone – Mr. House, Color Guard Director & Tabitha Sone, Color Guard Liaison

Color Guard- Please make sure you are ready for band camp. Leadership has sent out a required and recommended list, so start getting everything together now and make sure you are going outside for at least 30 min every day to get acclaimed to the heat.

We know many of our families have already completed a Volunteer Interest Form—thank you!

Our committee chairs are beginning to reach out via email to everyone who expressed interest.

We also have some great events in the works for new and returning volunteers to:

  • Find the perfect fit for your time and talents

We hope you’ll join us! But in the meantime get ready by completing your District Required Raptor Registration. Katy ISD requires all volunteers serving on or off-campus during or after the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system. The District's Raptor Volunteer Initiative provides an additional layer of protection for our Katy ISD students, staff, volunteers, and visitors, prioritizing the safety and security of our entire Katy ISD family.

Complete your Raptor Registration HERE. Katy ISD’s Raptor safety protocol will require volunteers to register (or re-register) annually, thus creating a new volunteer profile each year.

Important Reminders from our Committee Chairs


🎽 Required Gear

Important Update: Due to supply chain issues some vendors are experiencing challenges. This week we were notified that our Garment Bag Vendor will not be able to fulfill our orders so has cancelled the few that were made. You should have been notified by the vendor. We quickly pivoted and have uploaded a new Garment Bag to the BoosterHub Store.

Make sure to visit our Summer Band Page for a full list of all needed items and also our REQUIRED Gear Page. Below are just some of the items that require purchase:

  • Good tennis shoes (no sandals, Crocs, or slides)
  • 64 oz water bottle
  • White shirts for band students
  • Color Guard: Specific required colors and items (listed on the Summer Band page)
  • Additional gear available through our Logosoft Stores

🛍️ Order ASAP – Some items take a few weeks to arrive, so don’t delay! We suggest all items be ordered by July 30th to ensure they arrive on time for Marchathon and our first game and contest.

Marching Shoes- We will do a shoe try on during summer band as soon as we can access our sizers in the building when it reopens. Most likely Week 2 of band camp.

📣REMINDER- Summer lunch orders are open! If you plan to order for your student, please do so soon. There are 5 days left before we will close the orders for the first week, which will be next Monday, 7/14. Orders will still be open for week two through Monday, 7/21. Again, these are PRE-PURCHASE ONLY. There will not be extra available to buy on the day of the lunch. Thank you.

Orders are now open in the Jet Band Store.

Be sure to include your student’s name and section with your order so we can deliver meals correctly.

Additional Notes and Reminders from our Board

Calendar & Sectionals- Reminder we do have 2 Calendars! But use the BoosterHub App to see them in full!

  • The full Director Calendar is live and up to date.
  • Your student should have already attended at least one sectional and probably more
  • All sectionals are now listed on the BoosterHub Club Calendar.
  • Search by your student’s marching instrument to find relevant sectionals.
  • Drum Majors are responsible for uploading these, and all parents/students have been tagged for visibility.
  • Volunteer Opportunities are going live now and are found on the BoosterHub Calendar

💰 June & July Payments

  • June payments are now late.
  • July Band Dues are due NOW.
  • Starting July 15, late fees will automatically apply. You’ll notice the payment amounts in the Store will reflect this increase.

We know payment reminders aren’t the most exciting—but timely dues are essential to keeping everything running smoothly for our students. Thank you for staying on top of it!
