Communication Channels & New Blast Schedule
Each week, you’ll receive the unified Blast Newsletter from the Boosters and Directors. It’s designed to be clear, concise, and packed with everything you need to successfully launch your student each week.
These updates will be organized into sections by team and topic, known as Squadron Briefings, continuing our fun aviation theme. ✈️
Please be sure to read each blast in full so you don’t miss any important updates, reminders, or deadlines.
🗓️ Calendars- Yes we have 2!
Our BoosterHub calendars are always up to date with rehearsals, events, and deadlines. Any last-minute changes are rare, but if they do happen, they’ll be communicated directly through Remind by the directors.
🎺Sectionals and Section Events: We’re excited to share that sectionals have now been added to our BoosterHub Club Calendar!
Please take a moment to check it out—this is a great tool to help your family stay organized and support your student’s success.
🔔 Reminders & Communication
- If your student is tagged and expected to attend a sectional, BoosterHub will send a reminder to both parents and students at least one day in advance. Make sure your subscribed and using this tool.
- Section leaders have already communicated these dates directly to students, so this calendar is simply an additional resource to help with planning—especially for things like arranging rides or coordinating schedules.
💬 Encourage Student Communication
Please remind your student to stay in touch with their section leaders via GroupMe. Open communication is key to staying informed and showing up prepared.
📲 Stay Connected
- Remind: Make sure you're subscribed to director and your child is subscribed to their student and section leader remind channels.
- GroupMe: Students should be active in their section chats.
- Facebook: Join our parent group for quick answers and community support.
NOTE: Freshmen may need help getting used to these platforms—please encourage them to check messages regularly. Texting is rarely used unless it’s an emergency. If you think its been awhile since you heard from their section, ask your student to check. They should ask questions to their section leaders here and let their section help them. 99% of their questions can be handled here.
Freshman Parents: Have a question? Freshmen Mentor Parent, Amy Solomon can help. You can reach Amy at mentor@jetband.org or you can reach out to our Executive Board.

Support for Our Student Leaders – Parent Meeting Info
Dear Drum Major & Section Leader Parents,
We know your students are stepping into important leadership roles this season—and with that comes added responsibility, pressure, and challenges. They’re being asked to:
- Get peers signed up and engaged
- Set up events and lead practices
- Build a strong section culture
- Handle difficult conversations and situations
- Be role models for their peers
Not all of them have the training or experience to navigate these responsibilities just yet—and that’s okay. That’s where we come in.
As a parent-led organization, the Booster Board recognizes the unique needs of our student leaders and the vital role you play in supporting them. That’s why we’re excited to launch a Parent-Led Support Group this year—designed specifically to help you help them succeed and grow through this leadership opportunity.
🗓️ Mandatory Parent Meeting for our Section Leader and Drum Major Parents – July 14
We will be hosting a mandatory meeting for all parents of student leaders:
- Date: July 14
- Time: Immediately following the main Parent Zoom Meeting
- Location: Online (Zoom link will be provided)
This meeting will introduce the support group, outline resources, and give you tools to help your student thrive in their leadership role.
📬 A separate communication with full details will be sent directly to you soon—stay tuned!
Thank you for everything you do to support your student and the Jet Band family. We’re looking forward to a great season of growth, leadership, and music
_Liz Johnson- President and the Mom of our current Tuba Section Leader and Former Trumpet Section Leader.
