Welcome to the Jet Band and Colorguard!
A Message from Booster President Liz Johnson
Welcome to all all our families and we hope you are having a wonderful summer. These first few communications will have a lot of information in them as we look to onboard all our new families, train everyone on the use of BoosterHub and officially launch our season. We are looking forward to an amazing year and have been hard at work setting our community up for success.
First, a huge thank you to all of our families for your incredible support in getting students registered. We are currently at 99% completion, with only about five students left to finalize their registration in some way, shape, or form. This is a tremendous accomplishment—made possible by:
- Your responsiveness and commitment
- The tireless efforts of our section leaders
- And the dedication of our executive board and directors
Special recognition to our Low Reeds, Altos, Mellophones, Tubas, Euphoniums, Trumpets and Trombones for winning their Membership Award. Help get the rest of the sections verified by completing your email verifications for every student and parent. They are so close! These sections will get a special treat during summer band, and I would LOVE to be able to treat the whole band so let's see if we can get EVERYONE over the finish line by registering and completing their email verification.
Please let us know how we can improve and assist you as you adapt to our new system. We look forward to seeing you all soon. Keep reading for important information from our Directors and Booster Volunteers.
Did you miss our June 1st Communication which went over policies, fees, dues, and other critical information for the year? You can view that message on in our News Section
Communication Channels & New Blast Schedule
We’re excited to launch our first official Jet Band & Color Guard Booster Blast of the season!
Starting this summer, our newsletters will be sent on Wednesday evenings instead of Sundays. This shift better supports our schedule—since most activities take place Thursday through Saturday—and gives everyone a well-deserved Sunday break.
Each week, you’ll receive the unified Blast Newsletter from the Boosters and Directors. It’s designed to be clear, concise, and packed with everything you need to successfully launch your student each week.
These updates will be organized into sections by team and topic, known as Squadron Briefings, continuing our fun aviation theme. ✈️
Please be sure to read each blast in full so you don’t miss any important updates, reminders, or deadlines.
🗓️ Reminder:
Our BoosterHub calendars are always up to date with rehearsals, events, and deadlines. Any last-minute changes are rare, but if they do happen, they’ll be communicated directly through Remind by the directors.
📲 Stay Connected
- Remind: Parents Make sure you're subscribed to all the director reminds and your child is subscribed to the student and their section leader remind channels.
- GroupMe: Students should be active in their section chats.
- Facebook: Join our parent group for quick answers and community support.
NOTE: Freshmen may need help getting used to these platforms—please encourage them to check messages regularly. Texting is rarely used unless it’s an emergency. If you think its been awhile since you heard from their section, ask your student to check. They should ask questions to their section leaders here and let their section help them. 99% of their questions can be handled here.
Freshman Parents: Have a question? Freshmen Mentor Parent, Amy Solomon can help. You can reach Amy at mentor@jetband.org or you can reach out to our Executive Board.

Your weekly updates from Directors, Booster Leadership and support teams:
Flight Deck – A message from Mr. Ary, Head Band Director
I hope you and your family are having a great summer! While your student should be getting some rest and charging up for the upcoming year, they also have plenty of band homework that they should be doing. They should be regularly practicing their instrument so their skills do not deteriorate over the summer and they get behind their peers over the summer. All students should be getting out and being physical and acclimating to the heat. All brass, woodwind, and battery percussion students were given a video assignment of Up in 4/Down in 4 that is due July 1st. If your student is new to marching band or if they are a returner who did not previously earn a performance position in the show, they really should be watching and participating along with the Zach Carrasco youtube videos we have shared with the students. If your student doesn’t know what to practice musically or visually, they should reach out to their section leader and ask for help. July 21st will be here soon, so let’s make sure everyone is doing their part to make this a fabulous year.
Reminder: We have a Mandatory Parent Zoom Meeting on July 14th at 6PM.
Cadence Command – Mr. Fruge, Percussion Director & Ken Hix- Percussion Parent Liaison
Thank you to everyone who attended Percussion Camp and the techs an volunteers who helped! We still have families who have not paid their Mallet and Percussion Camp Dues. Invoices will be sent to those families who have not paid by June 30th. But you can also take care of this balance on the BoosterHub Store. Keep practicing and we still have a few folks in our section who need to complete their Booster Hub registration so lets close this out.

A New Look for JET Band and Color Guard!
You may have already seen our new look and brand rolling out across the organization—and we're excited to officially introduce it! More to come as we refine and edit.
At the direction of Taylor High School leadership, all campus organizations are adopting the "Running T" and "Mustang" logos to align with school-wide branding. JET Band and Color Guard have fully embraced this initiative with a complete rebrand that reflects our pride, unity, and school spirit.
Important Note: You do not need to purchase new gear—items with our previous logos are still perfectly acceptable and can continue to be worn. However, moving forward, any new spirit wear, uniforms, or materials we produce will feature the updated branding.
Coming Soon: Gear Ordering, Spirit Store & Volunteer Opportunities!
We’re putting the final touches on our Gear Ordering Page, Spirit Store, and Volunteer Pages, which will be launching soon on JetBand.org! We’re just waiting on a few final vendor quotes before going live—expected in the next day or so.
Once everything is up, you’ll receive a Booster Hub announcement, a push notification, and we’ll post the update on our Facebook page, so you’re always in the loop.
Get ready for an exciting season ahead! Next week’s newsletter will include all the details—from how to order gear, to ways you can get involved, plus more on the rebrand journey.
Stay tuned and see you all on our zoom meeting on July 14th!
