Message from Mike Ary, Director of Bands
I hope everyone had a great Spring Break and is ready to hit the ground running. It’ll be the end of the school year before we know it!
Congratulations to our Varsity Winter Guard on their accomplishment this past weekend at the WGI Southwestern Power Regional in Dallas. Out of the 46 guards in our classification, we advanced out of the quarterfinals into the semifinals and ended up in 20th place. This was the first time in several years that our guard competed at this large of a competition.
This coming Saturday is a big day for all 3 of our guards as they compete at the TCGC Area competition at Pearland HS. The Varsity performs at 12:07, the Cadets at 2:06, and the JV at 4:50.
The indoor percussion has their last local competition Saturday at Morton Ranch at 2:01pm.
Next Thursday, March 28 is our pre-UIL concert for the top 4 bands. Please make plans to attend this concert and hear what your student has been working on these past several months.
Saturday March 30 is our annual Crustacean Ball. If you like shrimp, crawfish, gourmet desserts, and good music, this event is for you. Please don’t be confused by it being called a “Ball,” dress is very casual. More information and tickets are available on our website.

Message from Thomas Wooldridge, Winter Guard Director
This past weekend the Varsity Winterguard traveled to compete in the WGI Southwest Power Regional in Denton, TX. They competed against 46 amazing winterguards from Texas, Arkansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and even Hawaii. They advanced to Semi-Finals, scored a 75.99 and received 20th place. This is absolutely amazing for the colorguard program since a Taylor winterguard has not competed in a Power Regional since 2011.
Congratulations Varsity on being a WGI Southwest Power Regional SEMI-FINALIST!
The Staff and I would like to thank all the parents that attended the Power Regional to support the performers! A BIG thank you to Kelly Stroud, Leslie Britton, and Shakira Luna for driving the Winterguard to Denton, TX and Luke and Laura Bolding for hauling our floor and Props! We could not do this without all of your love and support.
Parents and Friends if you have not seen all three Taylor Winterguards this season, you are in luck!! We will be competing in TCGC Area Championships Saturday March 23rd at Pearland High School.
- Varsity: 12:07PM
- Cadets: 2:06PM
- Junior Varsity: 4:50PM
